Mid-Weight Cold Weather Shirt & Drawers

Base Layer: Worn next to skin by itself or in conjunction with other levels for added insulation and to aid in the transfer of moisture.

The GEN III ECWCS Mid-Weight Cold Weather Shirt and Drawers are designed to provide light insulation for use in mild climates as well as a base layer for colder climates.

Constructed with Polartec® Power Dry® grid material, this base layer provides extra warmth but still wicks moisture away from the skin quickly and dries fast. This material offers stretch for increased comfort during movement and is designed to be lightweight and low in bulk. Flat-locked seams and cover-stitched hems have been added to reduce chaffing and increase comfort during movement.

The Level II Shirt is long sleeved with thumb holes and features a mid-chest zipper that closes to convert to a mock turtleneck. The neck also features a throat protection flap. The base of the zipper is reinforced with nylon webbing and for additional insulation the back of the shirt features a contoured long tail. The drawers feature an elastic waistband and access fly.

How Does Polartec® Power Dry® Work?
Moisture and high relative humidity next to the skin causes discomfort. Polartec® Power Dry® keeps the skin dry through three complimentary mechanisms:

1.	The fabric is highly breathable and does not restrict the movement of moisture vapor.
2.	“Touch points“ on the fabric’s inner surface draw off the sweat. Sweat is wicked off the skin to the outside of the fabric where it spreads rapidly for evaporation. Polartec® Power Dry® fabrics move at least 30% more moisture away from the skin than single component fabrics.
3.	When the sweat reaches the outside of the fabric, it spreads out to many times its original surface area, enabling it to dry at least 2 times faster than cotton.
